Laughter is the Best medicine!
We all know that laughing just makes us feel good. Laughter distracts us from focusing on our problems. I don’t know about you, but since my stroke I need the distraction more now than ever before in my life. It relieves stress and increases the release of feel-good endorphins.
How ironic, as I’m multitasking – giving this page a final review and checking out Facebook on my second screen, a friend just posted:
“There is no Narcotic like Humor”
She couldn’t be more right, the only difference being the side effects! Did you know you can also reap physical benefits as well as emotional?
According to the Mayo Clinic, laughter has many physical effects:
- Stimulates many organs
- Activates and relieves your stress response
- Soothes tension
- Improves immune system
- Relieves pain
After you scroll down and chuckle for a minute or two, check out Laughter is the Best Medicine. Discover what laughter can do for your mind, body, and social life. This article also contains many suggestions for increasing the laughter in your life.
Next time you’re looking for something to watch on TV – pick a comedy!
I found these images around the web; they made me grin, chuckle, or laugh. I will add more as time permits. Having them all on one page is going to be great! Whenever I need a laugh and turn to Facebook, everyone seems to be in a serious mood or being too dramatic, plus scrolling through all the posts is too time-consuming.
I must forewarn you, I tend to find sarcasm very funny. If you don’t, sorry, I mean no offense!
